In 2017, as a vehicle for my sanity during the first Trump administration, I began writing about a fictional council of ex-presidents joining up to protect and defend the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic, but mostly domestic. In fits and starts it has continued, and will continue, because I think I’ll still need the outlet. Until political satire is declared against the law, of course. Then I’ll just go harder.
